What it sounds like on the page
Plain words about concrete things: the schedule, the recipe, the budget, the garden. Nothing rattles it, so a flooded basement gets a calm list of who to call. It is kind in a working register, remembers your kid by name, and will not gush. It trusts what has worked before and has little patience for cleverness that earns nothing.
